Eggnog: A History And Origin

The exact origins of Eggnog are unclear, but it is believed to have been inspired by the medieval British drink “posset.” In colonial America, Eggnog was a popular holiday drink. George Washington even had his recipe.

The term “eggnog” is derived from “nog,” which was a name for a wooden cup used in medieval Europe to serve drinks. It is not hard to guess that the “egg” portion of the name comes from the main ingredient.

Around the world, Eggnog is consumed in many different forms. It can be alcoholic or not. Eggnog is a holiday favorite despite its uncertain origins. Its comforting, rich flavors are associated with the festive season.

It’s not just a delicious beverage. Eggnog is a festive drink that can be made according to a classic recipe or with your twist. The rich, creamy drink is made with milk, cream, and sugar. How to make Masala Chai Eggnog – Recipe for Masala Chai Eggnog

Pour heavy cream into a saucepan. Add cardamoms, ginger, cloves and peppercorns. Please turn off the heat before it boils, and add black tea bags. The tea bags should be left in the liquid mixture for between three and five minutes, depending on the strength of the tea flavor you desire.

Add sugar and egg yolks to a medium-sized bowl. Add vanilla extract and sea salt after whisking until the mixture becomes pale yellow. Combine both mixtures and then strain through a sieve. Add rum or brandy to taste.

Take egg whites in another bowl and whisk until soft peaks form. Add sugar to the egg whites, whisk them, and continue beating for 30 seconds.

Take a spatula made of silicone and add 1/3rd whipped egg whites to the yolk mixture. Mix until the blend softens. Fold the remaining mixture into the yolk mixture. Continue to mix it gently until it reaches a light consistency.
