• Call celebrant to confirm date and schedule appointment to discuss ceremony
• Agree on size and degree of formality of wedding
• Discuss budget and how expenses will be shared
• Select a wedding photographer
• Contact Hotel Watermark and pay deposit to confirm wedding venue
• Begin drawing up your guest list. Inform groom’s family of the number they can invite and by what date you need their list
• Begin planning a honeymoon destination
• Order invitations, order of service, place cards, thank you cards, bomboniere and any other wedding stationary
• Choose wedding attendants.
• Organise the Master of Ceremonies for your reception
• Organise the bridal gown; schedule fittings and delivery date
• Plan and decide on the menu
• Engage a florist and discuss floral choices, design, etc
• Select musicians, DJ and other entertainers for the ceremony and reception
• Order attendants’ gown and schedule fittings and delivery
• Commence beauty and hair routine, grooms included (facials, treatments, exercise, diet etc)

Two Months Ahead

• Post or deliver all invitations (Earlier for international guests)
• Buy wedding rings
• Organise your bridal registry and select gift options
• Select a wedding cake specialist and order wedding cake
• Select style of formal wear for groom’s party, purchase formal wear or make arrangements with rental business
• Inform attendants of fitting schedules and of any accessories they may need to buy
• Begin making transportation and accommodation arrangements for the bridal party.
• Remember to book a separate room or hotel for the groom and bride on the evening before.
• If you are getting ready at the Hotel Watermark, it is advisable to book a room from the evening before as an early check-in cannot be guaranteed
• Begin personal shopping for clothes needed for pre-wedding parties or honeymoon
• Make any necessary personal appointments – banks, solicitor, health check-up, beauty, hairdresser, etc.
• Enquire about health insurance and overseas health insurance if you are to leave the country on your honeymoon
• Enter all gifts into a list and begin to write thank you notes

One Month Ahead

• Ensure all official wedding documentation is in order
• Contact the celebrant and church to set a date for the wedding rehearsal
• Begin organising any necessary changes on all personal documentation if you are taking your husband’s name
• Make certain you have all necessary accessories for your wedding gown and for your attendants
• Finish you personal shopping
• Finalise your honeymoon plans
• Buy bridesmaids’ and groomsmen’s gifts and other special gifts

One to Two Weeks Ahead

• Arrange for final fitting and delivery of all wedding gowns, suits and attendants outfits
• Confirm final guest count and advise the Hotel Watermark
• Have final consultation with florist, photographer, musicians and others
• Send wedding announcement to the newspaper
• Arrange reception seating and forward place-cards, gifts, cake knife & ribbon, cake boxes,
  guest list and table plan to the Hotel Watermark
• Confirm honeymoon bookings and have all relevant documentation in a safe place
• Pack for honeymoon

One Day Ahead

• Prepare final make-up (do a test run)
• Lay out everything you will require on the wedding day, right down to the smallest detail
• Organise something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue, but also don’t forget to get a silver sixpence or penny to place in your shoe just as you are about to walk down the aisle
• If a hair-dresser or beautician is to attend to you on the day, confirm the times with them
• Speak to florist one last time to confirm all the details, confirm the delivery times and addresses and advise the Hotel Watermark if required
• Confirm that all members of the wedding party are organised and well prepared
• Prepare what you will have as a good healthy breakfast on the wedding day.
• This is an important start and often overlooked.
• Get to bed early and relax.

On the day

• Sit back, enjoy the day and have the time of your life. Just let all your plans run like clockwork.
