The scaffolding has been removed from the Hotel Britomart, revealing a stunning brick facade. The interior of the rooms and suites is being worked on, with an opening date set for 1 October 2020.

Construction on the 104-room Hotel was delayed by six weeks due to New Zealand’s Covid-19 Lockdown. However, work has now resumed. The only Covid-19 cases active in New Zealand are all managed in isolation.

The opening of The Hotel Britomart in October is primarily aimed at domestic tourists who will be able to appreciate the design of the Hotel and the attractions around it.

The Hotel Britomart, designed by Auckland’s Cheshire Architects, will be New Zealand’s greenest Hotel. It has been awarded a 5-Green Star rating from New Zealand Green Building Council.

The Hotel is an exciting new addition to Britomart. This historic waterfront district in Auckland has been the subject of a 15-year process of regeneration led by Cooper and Company.

The Hotel Britomart is revealing its complete offering in the next few months and will show how it will bring the vibrant Britomart neighborhood to life.

TFE Hotels will manage The Hotel Britomart, which has 99 rooms with timber floors and five Landing Suites. Cooper and Company will also be managing the Hotel. Clinton Farley, the Hotel’s general manager, stated that TFE Hotels is excited to work with Cooper and Company to open The Hotel Britomart.

He said, “TFE Collection properties have their own unique character and charm, and striking design and service makes them stand out.”

Farley states that there will be no formality. The hotel team can share their excitement by inviting guests to experience all Auckland offers.

The hotel project also includes refurbishing two adjacent heritage buildings. The historic Masonic House will be home to a new Kingi restaurant, which is short for kingfish. It will serve both locals and guests. Three other restaurants are also opening near the hotel entrance.
